Katie is with us!

Katie is from Chicago, Illionis, and she has just arrived at the school and has started her work as a language assistant . Today she has made her oral presentation in an ESO class. She has talked about her hobbies, her studies and the reason why she is in Barcelona.

It's great having her with us!

Mans Unides Campaign!!

Last week we were all very supportive ... and do you know why?
 We organized different events in order to collect some money for "Mans Unides" for this year campaign against hunger 
"Un món nou projecte comú".
 

There was a variety of snacks and sandwiches for breakfast, which had been given to us by some of the shops at our own neighbourhood. The students of 4th ESO and the students of "Punt de Trobada" were selling them.

We also organized what we call "Tómbola", with many objects and gifts which we could buy at a good price. Thanks to this money, we did contribute to the campaign. We are all really glad of the result!

Thanks to you we have collected 2.551 euros!!!

We ARE a very supportive school!!!

Joan Miró: our new artist!

At last, we have known the name of the artist we are going to work with in this new term: Joan Miró.

We think he is a very funny artist. He created a world of fantasy and colors, where the animals have three eyes, four noses, five legs... He also drew planets, stars.... The people were very different but they were in this fantastic world too.

Little by little we are going to discover more things about him and we are sure he is going to surprise us a lot.

The first work we have known is called “EL JARDÍ”. We have found birds, flowers, stones, worms, a peacock....

We have realised that in front of a Miro’s picture everyone can see things in a different way: where some people see a butterfly others see a flower.

The truth is that we are painting it quiet well.... Don’t you think?

Summer Camp Webquest

In 1st of ESO in the English class we have done this webquest, click on the image to see the Summer Camp webquest page.

We have worked in groups and used collaborative tools like prezi or drive to do our presentations. We have organized a summer camp for the students of our school.

A week of celebrations!

This week we have had two celebrations, last 27th January it was Sant Enric d'Osso and on 30th January the World Peace Day.

On Sant Enric d'Osso's Day the students of 3rd of ESO prepared some cool activities for all the school, such as sport activities, memory games, magic activities and so on.

Then in the afternoon all the students of the school danced in a Flashmob, following the music and all of us dancing at the same time! Finally we had some hot chocolate too!!!

 On Thursday we all gathered together at the playground and we made the symbol of Peace with some white balloons. We read the Peace Manifest and then let the balloons go up in the sky. In the end we also read some nice compositions about "Quin món voldria jo".

Spelling Bee Contest

These days    in 3rd grade we have already started  to practise spelling some words for the Spelling Bee Contest. 

The Pronouncer has to read the word aloud, and each time a classmate has to spell the word without looking at it. To start with, we are having a list of words on the digital board to remember them. 

So far we are all doing it really well!!!

Gaudi in Arts and Crafts

We have learnt a lot about this great Artist and his wonderful Works.

Stamping technique with carrots

The kids in the 1st grade have taken some carrots in order to use them in the Arts and Crafts class. 

They have cut them in two pieces, then they have soaked them in paint and stamped them in the paper.

The result is some really artistic works!!!
