The Three Little Pigs

In second grade we have joined both the Arts and Crafts lesson with the English lesson to work on The Three Little Pigs tale. First, we have watched the video in youtube:

After this, we have painted the characters of the story and we have built their houses. It has been a long hard but funny work! We made houses of straw (using small pieces of yellow paper), wood (using brown plasticine) and bricks (using small brown pieces of paper).

Have a look at our beautiful results!

Playing with the domino!

In first grade we have done Arts and Crafts in English. We have made domino pieces with some basic vocabulary and pictures like animals, numbers… First of all, we have prepared and cut some pictures with each name and then we have glued them in colourful cardboards. Then, we have played domino in groups.
It has been very interesting to mix Arts and Crafts with English.

Have a look how we enjoyed doing and playing this activity!

Different skills in Arts and Crafts

In Arts & Crafts the pupils in  1st grade have been using some cool techniques for their drawings.
First, each color was given a specific part and then we have been completing the drawing of the elephant and then coloring the inside, so that it creates a visul effect when you look at it from a distance.

Then, using some toothsticks we have been creating nice works with them, following the drawing we had done with the pencil.

Finally, we have used some modelling clay and with our fingers we have pushed it to fill the drawings. Then we have also varnished them so that they are bright!!

Joan Miró: our new artist!

At last, we have known the name of the artist we are going to work with in this new term: Joan Miró.

We think he is a very funny artist. He created a world of fantasy and colors, where the animals have three eyes, four noses, five legs... He also drew planets, stars.... The people were very different but they were in this fantastic world too.

Little by little we are going to discover more things about him and we are sure he is going to surprise us a lot.

The first work we have known is called “EL JARDÍ”. We have found birds, flowers, stones, worms, a peacock....

We have realised that in front of a Miro’s picture everyone can see things in a different way: where some people see a butterfly others see a flower.
The truth is that we are painting it quiet well.... Don’t you think?
 Have a look, please!

Stamping technique with carrots

The kids in the 1st grade have taken some carrots in order to use them in the Arts and Crafts class.
They have cut them in two pieces, then they have soaked them in paint and stamped them in the paper.

The result is some really artistic works!!!
