Ashni Gandhi

This is the presentation Ashni wrote about herself, she will be with us this year as the Language Assistant teacher helping students with their oral skills.

My name is Ashni Gandhi, I am a student at the University of Illinois and major in English and Spanish.  I aspire to be a lawyer and go to law school after my studies. In my free time I like to read, stay active, and play violin. Here in Barcelona, I stay with a host mom to practice my Spanish and make the most out of my experience!
See you today in class,
Ashni

Cambridge Exams

Last Monday 12th June our students attended the Cambridge Exams for Starters, Movers and Flyers levels at the school. As you know we are a Cambridge Certification official exam preparation centre for Young Learners and Main Suite exams, and that allows us to examine our own students as well as other students.

There were really good feelings among the students about the exams, and now let's wait for the results !!!

The Three Little Pigs

In second grade we have joined both the Arts and Crafts lesson with the English lesson to work on The Three Little Pigs tale. First, we have watched the video in youtube:

After this, we have painted the characters of the story and we have built their houses. It has been a long hard but funny work! We made houses of straw (using small pieces of yellow paper), wood (using brown plasticine) and bricks (using small brown pieces of paper).

Have a look at our beautiful results!

Getting to know Chicago with Silvia

These days Silvia, the Language Assistant of the school, has made a presentation of the city of Chicago where she lives in the USA. The presentation was for 4th, 5th and 6th grade, and she explained about the most important monuments in the city, the typical food, the weather, and what outdoor activities you can do to enjoy in Chicago. After her presentation, many of us had the opportunity to ask her lots of questions, and in fact, really good  and interesting questions came up!
We enjoyed and learned a lot with her. Thanks Silvia!!!

Freaky!

Yesterday 4th, 5th and 6th grade could enjoy of the play called Freaky and we all saw it at the school theatre.
This play is really interesting because through comedy the topics of friendship and bullying are on it, and they are dealt with in a humorous way. Some of us had the opportunity to interact in the play and we were actors on stage for a while.
We all had fun!

Let's go camping!

In 6th grade, after watching some episodes of Team Spirit in the class, we have all acted one of these episodes. The last episode was about a class that has to go camping as part of  a school activity.
We have made groups, written the dialogues, practised them, and acted as if we were the real characters in Team Spirit.
We have really worked hard and the representations were great!!!
